This was sent to us by a friend! What I want to know is, who researches all these kind of things?
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

Both wives lost their children whilst living in the White House.

Now it gets really weird.

Now hang on to your seat.

As they would say on the X-Files, Spooky!!!!!!
The last few days have been really busy and no quilting done, although it was Quilt Club on Monday evening, which was good. I have some pictures of the quilts the ladies had finished but they are on my Blackberry Tablet and I cannot get them to load onto the computer!!! There is always something!
Our Chairman has also set the Mystery Quilt for this year and this month’s task is to get the fabric. There is not a lot to get and it comes out as a wall hanging size. Next month will be the cutting instructions and her final comment was “beware this month will be the easiest”! Oh my!!!!
Having read some of the other blogs I follow I believe I now have to go into each blog and follow by email or get a new reader as Google are ending Google Reader!!!! Another job!
Youngest had his first part of his brace put on yesterday and one side is fine but the other is not. It hurts and when he was trying to eat yesterday at lunch there was a “crack” so we are back at the dentist this afternoon. He has not gone to school today as his face is swollen and it really hurts when he moves his mouth! I feel so sorry for him. I had a brace so know how bad it is. I think the next two years are going to be long!
I also have to start printing five A4 pages for every parent in the swimming club, there are 254 families, as we have some new regulations from the ASA, which they need to know about! I will have fun collating them all and getting them out to everyone! One of our other committee members has printed the letters with the names on for me, so at least that is done!
So on that note I had better get on. I don’t like it when I am not creative in a week so I will have to find some time somewhere! Also it is snowing again here!
Treacle isn’t here to do her Wednesday Wag, sorry, she is busy keeping Youngest company on his bed! Although I think she is a little annoyed as she usually has the bed to herself on a normal day!
Have a Wonderful Wednesday.

Saw this picture on the web and the machine is exactly the same as the one my Grandmother had when she taught me how to sew!
that “crack” sounds bad. You might want to find another orthodontist, this sounds like negligence.
being an old nurse, I have never heard of anything like that. I send my prayers for your son’s healing.
bless Treacle for being such a devoted fellow to support his sick brother now.
Looking at everything you have to do reminds me of my olden days… whew
I love the old sewing machine.
this was a great post. Times are tough here, my mom had a brain bleed (age 90) and she is recovering remarkably but we have a long road ahead.
Lincoln was a republican and quite conservative. Kennedy was called a democrat, but he was an old democrat, which was also very conservative.
Have you read Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy? Both books are amazing. I read them each in two days, I could hardly put them down.
I have always found that information about Lincoln and Kennedy sends chills down my spine every time I read it. It is almost creepy when you really think about it. Interesting that you happened to post this just now as I just finished reading a book yesterday titled The Kennedy Men: 1901-1963. It ends with the funeral of JFK. I was very young at the time but it still stands out in my memory and the more I read about that time period it makes me understand how the assassination of JFK set the U.S. on a path that brought us to where we are today. There is always that question of what if. I hope your son feels better soon that sounds very painful.
Wow, isn’t that odd! I have never heard their stories compared like that.
