Slow Thursday!

This has been our sky today!  Which is great for the children!  Youngest and I got up late and had a lazy day today.  Treacle is still on her small portion diet and has had scrambled eggs today and this afternoon a few of her normal food biscuits mixed in.  At the moment, and I am not saying this too loud, she is okay!!!! Fingers crossed.

After finishing my work I sat outside on our bench by our back door reading my book.  It was lovely and warm and an ideal way to spend an hour or two, or three or four!!!!!!!  Shush don’t tell anyone!!!

I have got one of my super secret quilts finished, just need to tidy the edges up and then get it sandwiched.  Will try and get some pictures tomorrow.  Speaking of tomorrow I have house jobs to do but am intending  getting them done early so I can get on with my quilt.  Love the summer when I have more time for quilting things.

Hope your Thursday is good.

The Wednesday Wag!

I’m still not well and I am now down to small portions of mush every two hours!  But I am only allowed the size of a saucer for the food!!!!!!

Mom has been working at her desk today and keeping an eye on me but I have slept for most of it.  She has also been doing some quilting, so she can still keep an eye on me.

Speaking of quilting the Pets on Quilts Show 2015 will be running soon and it is always a wonderful show.  It is run by the wonderful Snoodles at Lily Pad Quilting with the help of Padsworth & DragonDrop (http://lilypadquilting.blogspot.co.uk).  They have some very generous sponsors who donate lovely prizes, one of which Mom was lucky to win last year.  So hop on over and have a look and the show begins on August 17th.  Click the link above or the link on Mom’s sidebar.

Have a Woofy Wednesday, I am off back to bed.

Tuesday!

The poor school children, a second day of rain and cool temperatures!  Youngest and I were all set to have a lie in when Treacle was sick again, this time in Youngest’s bedroom.  So off to the vets we went with her.

DSC04353Thing is she is fine in herself, quite happy playing with Youngest, very keen on her food, not drinking anymore than normal.  In fact our poor vet, who is newly qualified, is baffled and so is her mentor (Treacle’s usual vet) too!!!!!  So she had another thorough examination and nothing untoward so she got an anti-sickness jab (!) and she is on a starvation day today and then tomorrow she is having her special “mush” diet for two days, very small meals often, and then see how she is on Friday!  Oh my!

Today the school things arrived which is great as I can get Youngest’s name sewn in to them before we go away.

Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be better and we may go out somewhere if he can decide what he would like to do.  Usually the first week is a chill week as it has been so busy running up to the end of term.  I got my work done and so this afternoon I did some more quilting on my super secret quilts!  Shush don’t tell anyone!!!!!

I hope your Tuesday is going well and warmer than here!

PS I managed to get my Blog looking like I want it now!!!!  Computers!!!!

Grr!

As you can see my Blog does not look like I want it to look like as WordPress have done something!!!!  I emailed them this morning and I had an email back to say don’t worry it’s all fixed but it isn’t!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I took Youngest today to get the few bits of school uniform he needs for September.  We chose his shoes, not in stock.  We chose his shirts, not in stock.  We chose his trousers, only one pair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I did get my work done today and a basket of ironing too so it did get a little better!!!!!!

Treacle is still a bit off colour, although to look at her you wouldn’t know it.  Her collar, quilted mat and Teddy have had a spa day in the washing machine but not her towel as it has been raining again!  Always the same, the children just break up from school for the summer and the weather is bad!!!!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Going to bed now, had enough!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Tomorrow Youngest and I don’t have to be anywhere and we don’t have to get up early either!!!!!!  Relief!!!!!

Roll on the Summer Fun!

The Wednesday Wag!

I have been poorly sick over the last week!  I had been eating grass the day before I was due to get my booster shots at my Doctors.  My Doctor gave me a thorough physical and pronounced I was A-Ok, but a couple of days after I was sick a few times.

Anyhoo Mom has been making me special breakfasts and dinners of something she calls “mush”!  It is a lovely dish, in fact I really like this mush!  Anyway yesterday Mom said I looked brighter and I did feel better and today Mom says I am almost back to normal!!

Of course that means I have done nothing over the last week, including the weekend.  Mom thinks it may be a combination of the heat, a little bug and getting my shots!

We are all going on vacation soon and I have been sorting out my toys and Mom is making sure that my beds I take with me and everything is all clean.  I can’t wait.  Also Youngest finishes school for the summer tomorrow, yeah.

Hope you are having a healthy Woofy Wednesday.

Two More Days To Go!

Only two days left before Schools out for Summer!!!!!

Trying to get Youngest up in the morning now is like trying to get limpets off the rocks!!!!  The little sucker will not get out of bed!!!  I went in twice today to tell him to get in the shower and he was still quite happily snuggled in bed!  Friday which is the first day of the holidays I am planning on doing nothing as he won’t be up before 11.00am!

I still have lots to do of course and am trying to fit in as much as possible before the end of Thursday.  Today I visited a venue for our small pool swimmers for their party, which is held in November each year.  I know it seems a ridiculous amount of time away but the invitations go out the second week they are back at school in the Autumn and it will soon be here.

One of my jobs tonight is sort out my stash and get things tidy in their boxes as the service man is coming to service our boiler tomorrow and the boxes are all over the room he needs to be in!!!

Here is a question for all my Quilty friends; Do you over make on your quilt bindings?  I always do because I am so scared of getting half way round and running out!  I seem to have a box full of just bindings, but it did come in use the other day when I used some of the left over binding to complete a project!

I hope your Tuesday is going well and to the person who asked if Snoopy was sipping beer from yesterday, yes but it is Root Beer!!!!!

Busy Weekend!

It was a busy weekend with us as always.  Did I tell you that Youngest has a job at the weekend?  No, well he is working one day at the weekend in the Butchery department at Croots Farm Shop!  Isn’t it strange how the World Works?  This is the Saturday Job that his Dad, DH, did when he was Youngest’s age and his Grandad on his Dad’s side was a Master Butcher and had his own shop!

He has been training over the last few weeks and will continue until we go away on vacation and then will start properly when we get back.  He is loving it, although is very tired when he gets home!!!!!  “Working is hard” was his assessment after his first day!  Yep agree with that.

The Boys and DH were due to get haircuts on Saturday but our hairdresser’s daughter was up all night poorly so she cancelled, which meant we had more of the day to do jobs, which we took advantage of.  The weather was wonderful and I can honestly say I have really enjoyed the summer this year.  DH was out on Saturday evening and I took advantage to get some quilting done.

DSC04846 DSC04848 DSC04847Making progress.  This is the first of my two super secret quilts that I am trying to get done before we go away in three weeks time.

DSC04849Also finished this but can’t show you too much about this until after we get back.  All will be explained!!!!!

Yesterday I had some things to sort out for swimming and then I got on with my quilting again.  I still have a long list of jobs to do but I am determined to get them done this summer.  We also need to arrange some visits and also get the family round for dinner which, again I need to sort out before summers end but again I am determined I will get it done.

This is the last week of school and everyone is ready for Thursday, which is the last day!  I have a lot of cleaning to do before then as I usually get everything bottomed before they are off and then do the same again when they go back.  Six week holiday here we come!

Happy Monday.

Running on Lack of Sleep!

I managed to get into bed early last night and was asleep by 10.00pm.  At 1.00am I woke up as I had cramp in my left foot and I wasn’t even lying on that side!!!!  Well I could not get rid of it!  I stretched, I massaged the foot, I got up and walked about and it was still hurting!!!!  So once I was up a trip to the bathroom and then a trip downstairs for a cup of tea and then back up stairs and of course by this time I was wide awake!!!! Needless to say DH was fast asleep 🙁

I watched a TV programme, Castle, which I like and find easy to watch and then I watched Hannibal (!) still confused!!!!  and when that was finished I began reading!  I was still awake at 4.00am when the birds were getting up!!! Then I fell asleep for an hour and was then up to get showered and start the day.

It is now 4.30pm here and I am now running on fumes and feel really tired!!!!!!!  Why!!!!!!

If you remember from an earlier post I was taking part in Summer 2015 Book Challenge which I have failed at miserably!!!!  It really is not a good month for me reading as we have been so busy with all our activities and the book I am reading which is one of the books I chose,  is really hard going. I usually read lots when we go away on holiday and I have some book tokens which I am going to use to get some books for our holiday, so maybe I will catch up then!!!!!

Today has been house job day and grocery shopping and when I have taken Youngest to swimming club I am going to abandon him tonight and come home to bed and DH will collect him on his way home from Wales!

I hope your Thursday is better than mine.

The Wednesday Wag!

DSC01889It is so warm today I have just had to lie on the deck and bask!!!!!

DSC04831Of course I do have to keep an eye out for those pesky cats and my arch enemy the squirrel

DSC04830Nothing yet, but I know they are about.

Mom’s been photographing some of her favourite flowers which have bloomed recently.

DSC04833This is the Buddleia above the Astilbe which are just flowering

DSC04832 DSC04834Two different Lavender bushes one is out and the other just coming into flower

Mom loves this plant as it looks like a real cottage garden plant but does not know the name of it!

I am just waiting for Youngest to get home so we can play outside.  Mom has been busy all day at her desk working 🙁 so no playing there!!!!!

Have a Very Woofy Wednesday
