In The Round!

We went to see Youngest last night for one of his drama performances at school and it was “In The Round” in the main hall.  It was a good evening, the the performance was amazing with the children taking on several different parts each in the play, accompanied by some of the children on live music!  He has another performance at the beginning of May as part of his GCSE exam and he is still determined to go to Drama School after his A’Levels.

Yesterday I did House jobs and grocery shopping and then had to collect my car after some work had to be done to it.  Today I caught up on my work and then did those extra cleaning jobs; windows, lights, edges and thoroughly cleaned the Den, which is our office.  It has also been a decent day here with some sunshine even though it was cool, so I had decided to open the windows to get some fresh air circulating.  Fortunately I had gone out with Treacle just before this and realised that the farmer was slurrying the field at the back of our garden!  Needless to say I did not open the windows!

DH and Youngest are swimming again all weekend and this evening are helping out at our Club’s Lifesaving section event!  So I can spend the whole weekend quilting, yeah!!!!!!  I promise to get some pictures over the weekend as well to show you what I am up to.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

The Wednesday Wag!

DSC04134It was -5 this morning and it was very, very cold on my paws on my first trip outside!  Dad had to leave early so I had an early breakfast and afterwards I decided the only place to be was my basket!

DSC04927Mom came downstairs and I was fast asleep and I didn’t even move when she left with Youngest on the school run!  Last night Eldest and Girlfriend came round for dinner and they were all playing with me, so I had a very busy evening.

DSC04400

In fact I haven’t moved from my basket at all, except for another quick trip out and my lunchtime biscuit of course!

I am trying to persuade Mom to move my basket from by her desk to under the radiator in the Den, but Dad will have to move his chair over so he can work at his desk, but I am sure he won’t mind for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a Warm Woofy Wednesday

Another Referendum!

We have a date for the Countrywide Referendum on whether the UK stays in the European Union or we leave.  June 23rd 2016.

I remember my parents discussing and voting upon whether the UK should stay in the EEC in 1973 and their view was no the country should remain on its own and now, 43 year’s later, we are being asked on whether we should stay or go!

I think the main worry is exactly what will happen either way and no one is able to give a definitive answer!  So how do you vote on something like this?  No one I have spoken to so far has any clue!!!!!!   Not Helpful Folks!!!!!

It has been a very busy week last week and Youngest passed his Level 1 Teaching Aquatics Course and then spent the weekend with DH at the County Swimming Championships so long days for all. I got quite a bit done quilting wise and I will try and get some pictures and let you see what I am up to.  Saw Eldest and Girlfriend yesterday and they are coming for dinner tomorrow night.

Another big week with Youngest performing in one of his plays on Thursday evening, which we are going to see, and another weekend of County Swimming Championships this weekend too!  More days for me to be quilting!!!

I hope your Monday is going well.

Throwback Thursday!

British Library

Our two at The British Library, London – February 2005.  It was February Half Term and I spent the week in London with The Boys going round the museums.  It was a great time

Boys on Bikes

Easter 2005 in Scotland.  The Boys and their bikes having a great time racing around with their Dad.

It doesn’t seem five minutes since they were born and I love seeing these pictures.  I love them to bits.

The Wednesday Wag!

DSC05168I was trying to get Dad’s attention but he is busy working!

DSC05167So I decided I was going to bring my ball, so he would play with me.

DSC05172Dad was still busy so I recruited Youngest to help me and I decided to bring Teddy!

DSC05170It worked!  Dad finally stopped working to play with me!!!!!!

It has been raining all day today here since the moment I got up to now, so no playing outside.  Mom has had to dry me every time I have been out and I really don’t like being dried!!!!  Mom says I am a nuisance as I won’t stand still but you can’t believe that of me!

Have a Woofy Wet Wednesday

A Crossover!

I think I have mentioned before that another favourite TV show of mine is Bones.  I have  and have read all of Kathy Reichs books and love the show.  Last night there was a crossover with another Fox series, which I also like, Sleepy Hollow.  It was a good episode.  However the real crossover which I think a lot of people would like to see would be a Bones/X Files crossover!!!!!

I can just imagine how Mulder and Booth would get on or not as the case may be and Scully and Brennan I am sure would find some common ground.  Come on Fox get yourselves into gear and get that Bones/X Files crossover on the schedule!!!!!

It was very, very frosty this morning but I think the temperature here only dipped to -3 but in other parts of the country it was -8.  Treacle did not stay out long in her garden this morning, her paws were very cold when she raced in!!!!!

Youngest had a great day yesterday on the first part of his course so I am hoping that the whole week will go well.  Girlfriend is back from France for two weeks for half term and she popped round to see me today, while Eldest is away for a week as part of his course.

This weekend they are swimming both days so I am thinking about taking myself off to see a couple of craft fairs.  It depends upon the weather.

Have been spending some time on Pinterest and just love the things you can find on there.  Here is a link to my page https://uk.pinterest.com/scullybooks.  Tonight I am going to get on with some more quilting.

I hope you are having a Terrific Tuesday

Third Monday of February!

Valentines Day passed in a blur of jobs and swimming, but DH and I had been out for dinner the previous week so ahead of ourselves!

Youngest has started his Level 1 Teaching Aquatics today but they changed the time so it started at 10.00am and I have to pick him up again at 6.30pm, right in the middle of rush hour traffic!!!  Oh joy.  However there is someone on the course who he knows which he is pleased about.  At the weekend we start the two days of swimming over two weekends, this and next, for the County Championships.  The older ones swim in the evening, so DH and Youngest are helping out during the day with the younger ones and then Youngest will be swimming in the evening.

The weather has been better over the last few days with lots of sunshine but very cold and frosty, but it is so nice to see the sun.  Tonight it is supposed to be very cold and someone told me it is due to be -7 overnight!

I have been quilting but I can’t show you anything yet!  I have made an even bigger mess in Eldest’s room (!) which I need to try and get cleared up a little bit.  It is great not having to pack things away after a quilting session but then I think it is making me more messy!!!!!!!  Unfortunately I am one of those people who has to be tidy to work well.  I don’t work well in a mess!!!!!

Treacle is starting to come out of hibernation (!) and is getting more active and I am sure it is because the sun is out.  This morning I couldn’t get her in from the garden!  She is quite happy outside as she has a thick woolly coat at the moment but it is really cold and she really wanted the door left open, no chance!!!!

I hope your Monday is going well.

The Wednesday Wag!

DSC03657Yesterday and today has been sunny here, although cold, but I have been out in the garden. Mom left me out for a little while but I am in trouble as I have been digging at the back of the Boys’ Den!  A darned cat was sat on the fence and would not move but it eventually did when I almost reached it when I stood on the edge of the deck!!!!!!

Dad has been away and I miss him as he gets up really, really early and so I get my breakfast quickly, but Mom does not get up until 6.00am!  She is a lazy bones!

Have a Woofy Ash Wednesday.

Shrovetide

Yes today is Shrove Tuesday when you eat pancakes well that is what has become tradition but really is eating fat before the fasting of Lent and Ash Wednesday.   As DH is away all week on business we actually had our pancakes on Sunday!   I always suffer when I am making pancakes as DH remembers being a small boy with his best friend, James, in his Mom’s kitchen on Shrove Tuesday and Auntie Margaret just making pancake, after pancake until they were full.  Being little Boys of course they were never full.  So I always make double the amount of batter but it never seems to be enough!!!!!!

I watched it!  Its still great!  However I am a die-hard fan but the writing was just the same and Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny were still great as Mulder & Scully.  I just wish there was going to be more episodes than the six they have made!  There is a rumor in Episode Five of introducing their replacements and for the X-Files to continue with them instead of Mulder & Scully.  Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! It won’t work.  Mulder & Scully are the X-Files!!  You can’t do it!!!!!

DSC05002To say Treacle has been hibernating she wasn’t last night!  Because DH is away I was “allowed” to have Treacle on my bed as she usually sleeps in Youngest’s room in her basket.  Well she spent the whole night running up and down stairs barking and then got me up at 5.00am!!!!  Tonight she is sleeping in Youngest’s room!!!!!

I am still trying to sort out my sewing and stash in Eldest’s room but it is so nice that I don’t have to tidy everything away when I have finished and can just leave it as it is.  I just need to be a bit more organised in the room.  Eldest can still stay in his room, he will just have to climb over a few things!!!!!

I hope your Tuesday is going well.
