Yesterday disappeared into work and then errands for work!! Before I knew it, it was 6.00pm and I hadn’t started dinner!!!
This has all it has been doing since Sunday evening and in fact we have had a month’s rain in three days so as you can imagine the ground is saturated and there are bits of flooding. Living on a hill does have advantages. I think we were so spoiled last year with the weather which was lovely and warm. Not too hot just right! Of course you always hope that it will be the same and unfortunately it isn’t.
This was taken on the same day last year and you can see how blue the sky is!
This is today! The little bits on the patio and steps are off my tree in the above picture. It was blowing a gale and heavy rain on Monday evening into Tuesday!
As you can imagine Treacle is not a happy bunny as she cannot be outside all day as normal. In fact she has gone into hibernation mode! It has also been quite cold too!
One of my Quilt Shops I go to, in Cromford Derbyshire, is closing!!!! They are going to sell fabric on line but the actual shop is closing at the end of this month! I went yesterday to get some things in the sale which I will show you soon, but I am sad, especially as the other quilt shop a little further up the road from this one is also reducing stock!!! DH keeps saying that I should open a shop near to us as these are closing and there is no actual shop in Nottingham either!!! It is a huge undertaking though!!!!
We are busy this evening as Eldest is moving jobs and starting his new one on Monday so we are helping to move all his tools, boxes etc to his new job today!! Then DH has a meeting tonight so he won’t be home until late! Tomorrow is home jobs day and hopefully the new washing machine will be delivered and Friday we are out at business meetings all day!!!!!
Saturday DH is out all day commentating, so if the weather is like it is now I will be spending the day in my sewing room!!!!!
Happy Wednesday everyone, Treacle is in her basket asleep so will be here next week for The Wednesday Wag!
Hugs, Susie xx
We have a lovely day here today and mom has been out weeding. Tomorrow the rain and the cool temps return. Why can’t we have an entire week of sunshine and then just one day of rain?!
Imagine owning your own quilt store! What fun that would be! Have a wonderful Wednesday, Miss Susie 🙂
I’m sorry your closest shop is closing…yes, it is a great time for you to get bargains, but it is so sad. So many quilt shop here have closed as well, but new ones do open also. The price of fabric, tools and machines is so high (yeah, I know it is way less expensive here in the States) that I think fewer people are willing to pay the price in brick and mortar stores when it is less expensive online, even with shipping. They forget that the customer service in person is hard to beat. I’m sorry your weather has been so icky! Last week we shot to the 90s then back to barely 60. This week has been lovely and hot.
