Our Mad Dog and Her Wednesday Wag

The Wednesday Wag.

It’s another sunny warm day here in Derbyshire and I have been making the most of it on Mom and Dad’s bed.  It was cool first thing so I was on the bed but as it warmed up I moved outside!!!

Mom worked this morning but this afternoon she has been baking!!  A new loaf, her orange cake and some rock cakes which were Granddad’s favourite!!!

Above, all cooling on the top.

Orange Loaf Cake.

White loaf of bread, freshly baked today!

Rock cakes, just the right size for me!!!!

I got to help with the clean up!!

Although after I had licked the spoon a bit I started to chew the spoon!!!! Mom then put it in the dishwasher!!!

Mom has been doing a lot of cooking in the kitchen whilst we have all been at home and she made this for dinner last night.

Cottage pie!  She then spread Red Leicester cheese over the top!!!  I haven’t had any yet but there are leftovers!!!!

I am hoping to get a Rock cake after my dinner!

Happy Woofy Wednesday and stay safe.  Treacle xx

This little lady is 12 today!

The first of the family to have a Birthday in Lockdown!!!!  Mine is next, will we still be in Lockdown then?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning.  DH went out early again, so Treacle had been out, had breakfast and so came back to bed.  Don’t blame her on her Birthday!  We got up at 8.00am!!!

The day we go her home!

Eldest with her, he was 12.

Youngest with her, he was 8.

Treacle with our dear Kelly!  Kelly’s look says “What have you brought home?!!!”

This was Kelly’s favourite sitting spot, above, looking into the garden, so Treacle on the right copied her!!!!

Two very pretty grown up Airegirls!!!!  They had both just come back from the Spa so I got a picture before they got messy again!!!

Treacle again just back from the Spa!!!

The Boys with Treacle not long after we got her.

All three of them ten years later!!!!  Eldest 22, Youngest 18 and Treacle 10!!!!!

Unfortunately because of Lockdown we can’t all be here but I am sure we will have a second celebration when we can.  She is opening her presents tonight when DH gets back and we will be video calling the rest!!!!

Happy Birthday Treacle, we all love you!!!!

Stay Safe all.

Hugs & Love, Susie xx

The Wednesday Wag.

It has been doing this all day today, I have got very wet everytime I have been out!

So Mom has been working at her desk today and I have been extremely busy helping from my basket next to her desk.

It has also been very cold.  Mom did put the heating back on yesterday but Eldest switched it off again last night so when Mom and I got up at 5.00am it was really cold again!!  Eldest did not get up that early and the heating controller is in his room so Mom was not able to switch it back on until he was up!!!  Mom put my blanket over me to keep me warm.

I am hoping that the rain will stop by the weekend and I can be outside all day!!!

I hope you are all staying safe and warm.

The Wednesday Wag, Lockdown Wk 2.

I honestly don’t know if I am coming or going at the moment!  All my family are at home a lot more than normal but then Dad and Eldest were out yesterday as they were delivering essential parts so it was just Mom and I.  Then Dad has gone out today to work as normal and it is just Mom and Eldest and yesterday Youngest and Girlfriend arrived to collect some things and then they left!!!  I just don’t understand at all!!!

I just settle down for a snooze when some job is started either outside or in!!!  I have also seen Mom getting her cleaning things out so I think we are going to have one of those big cleaning days!!!!!  Oh boy I will definitely be staying out of the way especially if the vacuum cleaner is out!!!

Long walks are off the agenda at the moment as well as we are only allowed out for an hour at a time, so it is a quick walk around the block and back home!!!  If we meet anyone we cross over so we don’t walk past them and shout hello at them!!!!  IT is a very strange reality at the moment.

Mom says that if the Lockdown stays in place for a while she will have to get the clippers out and give me a spa day at home!!! I will definitely be hiding then especially if she also mentions the dreaded word “Bath”!!!!!

They have also been busy in the garden and all the trees they have cut down have now gone.  They say that they are going to be working in the garden again at the weekend which is great fun as I get to play ball all the time!!!

I hope you doggies out there are all staying safe with your hoomans, keep woofing.

Treacle xx

Treacle of the Day!

I had been outside playing all day and Mom decided that I needed a good brush when I came in!   I was not impressed.

How does that look Mom?  Can I go and play again please?

I am getting a bit of a woolly coat at the moment especially my beard and eyebrows and Mom has threatend to get the scissors out and give me a trim!!!!!!

Happy Woofy Weekend Everyone, Stay Safe!

Lockdown Wednesday Wag!

Good Morning Wednesday Waggers I hope you are all well and social distancing.  Mom says I am doing very well social distancing sometimes but when I need a cuddle I just have to plonk myself down next to her!!!!!

Mom has been able to leave the door open to the garden so I can come and go as I please.  I love it when I can do this.  It is quite warm in the sunshine today.

Of course you have to have a tennis ball out for when anyone is passing and will throw it for me.

“Is it biscuit time yet Mom?”

Mom and Dad are getting the garden ready to put seeds in, I have inspected this to make sure it is okay.

It is another sunny Spring day today.

Mom’s Daffies have done really well and are staying in flower a long time, the few that the squirrel left for her that is, Grr!!!!

The garden is waking up after the Winter.

Have a very happy Woofy Wednesday everyone.  Stay Safe.

The Wednesday Wag.

We have had one of those days and I am really confused as Daddy and Eldest are at home as well as Mom!!!  Only Youngest has gone out to work!!!  What is happening?  I hear a lot of things about some sort of thing which might be caught and that people are staying at home but that is okay as I love it when everyone is in!!!!

Also Daddy and Eldest have been doing a lot of work at the front of our home pulling out all of Mom’s plants!!!  I don’t know what is going off.

Mom has ensured I have enough food just in case deliveries can’t happen and I have seen an extra box of Bonios in my cupboard so we should be alright if we are all at home.  I am very willing to share my bonios with my Hoomans!!!!

I am quite happy at the moment especially with everyone at home.  I hope all you doggies are keeping you and your hoomans safe and healthy.

Busy Few Days.

DH and I were up very early on Thursday to get to Crufts to avoid the traffic.  Despite all the news about Coronavirus, it did not stop people turning up to show and see all the wonderful dogs.  Girlfriend’s Mom has been very busy with their two Pugs, Ralphy & Dotty, taking part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.  Ralphy had done so well he had been invited to Crufts for him to show what he has learnt and to take part in his Bronze examination!  Ralphy is just over a year old and has been doing really well with his training, however Dotty has outstripped him and already on to her Silver award!!!

Here are some pictures of the day.  Ralphy had two practice sessions and then the main examination was in the afternoon.

The test involves many aspects one of which is being still whilst being groomed and also being still whilst they are examined so that they are well behaved when they go to the vets.  Here is Ralphy with Girlfriend’s Mom being groomed.

Obviously the Stay without being held is a very important part of the course.  Here is Ralphy on his practice.

Walking to lead without being distracted by other dogs, people etc.

The picture above is the actual test and one of the main parts is the stay from a distance for one minute.  This was Ralphy’s most challenging part but he sailed through with flying colours.

All the dogs who took their Bronze exam.  Three did not pass due to them moving at the stay.

Ralphy passed and is now onto his Silver course!  Getting his Certificate and rosette.

Team Picture!

Ralphy and Girlfriend with his Rosettes.  Well Done Ralphy!!!!

In between times DH and I got to have a look around the Halls, there were lots of people there.  Of course we had to visit the Discover Dogs area and see the best dogs ever booth.

When you have had a particular breed for years you always feel that they are the best dogs ever!!!!  As much as we saw other breeds at the show and got to see the dogs and talk to their owners we really don’t think that we would ever not have an Airedale!!!!

This is Ami who was showing later in the day but was on the Discover Dogs stand for a while.  She was lovely but a little tired with all the people coming to talk to her!!!

We bought some treats for Treacle from her Food supplier, Burns, but there was not much else that we wanted to get her.  It was a good day and lovely to see Ralphy do so well.  We got there at 6.30am and left about 4.00pm before the rush to get out and did okay.  Friday we had a business meeting which took all day and got home around 8.00pm, so two very long days.

The weekend DH was commentating on Saturday evening but we managed to get some errands done and Sunday the weather was good so we got some gardening done too!!!  I will show you pictures of that tomorrow.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and will have a good week.

The Wednesday Wag.

Mom & Dad are off to Crufts tomorrow.  Crufts is one of the longest running dog shows and began in 1886 by Charles Cruft who was a general manager for a dog biscuit manufacturer.  He used to travel around Britain and Europe to dog shows with his products and found a need for a higher level of dog show.  The first show in 1886 was just for Terriers but by 1891 all breeds of dogs competed.

I can’t go as only dogs who are invited can go but Girlfriend’s dog, Ralphy the Pug, is going with his puppy group, so they are all going to see him and the rest of the day.  Mom says it should be fun as she has always wanted to go.

Of course if I was going I would win!!!!!

I don’t mind as Eldest is at home looking after me and we have lots of fun when he does.  Mom says she will get lots of pictures to show you all.

She has been busy all day working and getting home jobs done as she will be out all day tomorrow and is staying away tomorrow night with Dad as they are at a business meeting on Friday so won’t be back until the evening.  It has been a bit of an upside down week so far!!!!!

I hope you are having a very Woofy Wednesday.
