#TBT.

For #TBT I thought I would show you some of the pictures of the Boys from past Carnivals in the Village.

When Eldest was in the parade with Scouts I would take Youngest on some of the fairground rides before it got too busy.  Here he is in the Teacups from 2005 (he was 5 years old)

Here is Youngest in his first parade with Beavers as an Oompa Loompa.  Jayne and I were talking about this at our lunch on Tuesday.  This was 2006 and he was six.

This was at the Duck Race in 2011.  All the years we have bought Ducks in the races this was the only time we won and it was not us that won, it was Treacle!  Youngest collected it for her and he bought her a treat with the winnings!

Eldest dressed as an “old” Scout in the Carnival Parade celebrating 100 Years of Scouting

Youngest in the same Parade in his Beaver uniform.

Eldest liked it as he got older that he could actually help with the Carnival events.  Here he is in 2013 stood in the brook waiting to catch the Ducks at the finish.  He was 18 here.

So far all the events have gone well with only rain last night at the Duck Race so they all came home rather damp!  At the moment the weather is supposed to be okay for the rest of the events including Saturday, the main day!  Finger’s crossed.

Because it has been a chaotic week, tomorrow is home jobs day and grocery shopping and at the weekend I am hoping to get things sorted in my sewing room!!!

It’s Only Wednesday!

June 21st The Summer Solstice

Today is the longest day, although I have been going through the “waking up at silly o’clock” phase again and have quite often heard the birds starting to sing as it gets light, sometimes it seems like it is 3.00am when they start!

I know that the nights begin to pull in from now but only small amounts each day but it seems like we have only just got into summer, when everyone then begins to talk about Autumn and Winter!  I could have clocked someone the other day who actually mentioned Christmas!  I am hoping that we are going to have some lovely warm weather for the next few months.

When we have finished tidying the garden I will get some pictures to show you.

I hope your Longest Day is a good one.

Busy Weekend.

Our clocks sprang forward over the weekend and as much as I love the lighter nights, it really wrecks my sleep!!!

I got all my home jobs done at the weekend and a few small Spring Cleaning jobs done too.  I don’t know where the weekend went but it was busy.  I had Coco helping too!!!!!

Coco needs a spa day soon as she is getting extremely fluffy!  She still has a lot of puppy coat.  I keep putting it off as it has still been very cold here.  Although we have signs of Spring in the garden with the trees starting to bud and the plants starting to come alive again, it is still heating on weather.

After next week DH and I will be off work, we will keep things ticking over but it will give us a chance to get jobs done and DH will be helping Eldest at his garage.  We should have been away in Scotland but changed plans because of announcing events for DH.  He won’t know what he is in for as I am going to get ALL the Spring Cleaning done and finished during the two weeks we are off!!!  It won’t be all jobs though as we do have some fun things arranged.

The Primulas are putting on a lovely Spring show this year.

The sunset over our garden the other day.

DH is away for two days this week on another business exhibition and then it will be home jobs day.  Friday I am running some errands and in the evening we are out for dinner at our friend’s home with four other friends we haven’t seen since last year.  Can’t wait.  Saturday we have a day to our selves and then Sunday DH is announcing again, that will be another week done!

Have a wonderful week.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day

DH and I are actually at home on our own tonight which makes a change, so I am going to cook us dinner and we can watch a film in peace!!!

The weekend flew by and very busy for DH and The Boys helped him out which was a great help after him being away all week at the business exhibition and also having a friend’s 60th Birthday party to do on the Saturday night too!  Why does everything always happen in one week?

I was up to date with all my work and home jobs and I got some other bits sorted.  Did not get any sewing done but did organise my projects I need to finish and sort out the material for the ones I need to get done, so it was a little bit of sewing related jobs done!

I had to pop in to the supermarket on Sunday and saw these flowers and just had to get them.  I love the colours and although it is cold and foggy here today at least they give us the hope of Spring soon!

I put them on the coffee table in the sitting room.

Madam is in trouble!  The wall behind her basket next to my desk was marked when Darling Treacle used to jump in and out of it.  It goes away when it is decorated, but trying to get a decorator at the moment is harder than finding gold!  Anyway Madam has decided to have a little chew at the wall!!!  DH thinks it will be okay but she is in BIG trouble!!

The face of innocence – NOT!

This was what I found when I went into the kitchen yesterday afternoon!  Hmm!

Still have a busy week of work this week but we have nothing on this weekend, Yeah!!!  Saturday evening we are out with friends for dinner which I am really looking forward to.  Of course there are always jobs to get done but at least we can do them at our own pace and not in a rush as DH has to be going to an event or something!!!

Have a wonderful week you lovely lot.
