Last week disappeared in a rush of work, house jobs, dealing with The Boys and I honestly don’t know where the days went! I think the Cosmos had something against me!!!! I have also been going through a period of waking up at 4.00am every day and I am finding it hard at the moment to break the habit. I have no problem going to sleep but I do have a problem staying asleep!!!
Yesterday was Mother’s Day in the UK and it was very cold and quite dull day weather wise and I think we should move our Mother’s Day to the US one in May when the weather is usually better! I got lovely cards from the Boys and my gift was this :
Now you may think this is a weird Mother’s Day present but it is something I actually wanted and really do need! Why you ask well
The last few weeks I have spent some evenings and weekends making things for the stall and here is what I have so far
That’s what I have at the moment but I am really having fun making them and using up all my scraps of fabric. It is amazing what you can make out of really small bits of material.
We have ten weeks before Youngest starts his exams, oh boy! We are looking forward to our vacation over the Easter holidays and I will be taking my sewing as Youngest will be spending quite a bit of time revising, so I will be able to get lots done then. I also have my commission quilt to do which will also be done whilst we are away.
Swimming has been busy and the Club were at a memorial gala on Saturday and they won! Youngest posting some great times and coming first in a few of the races so he was really pleased. Although he has developed a cold over the weekend and is really tired, so I am dosing him up with vitamins so he can get rid of it quickly. We have swimming again this Saturday evening and on Sunday Evalyn, her Mom and Dad are coming for the day.
Hopefully this week will be a little less chaotic!
Hugs, Susie x
Hopefully Spring will arrive soon!
Those are some lovely quilted items you have completed. You really have been busy getting all those projects done!
You are going to have a lovely stall!! Love your cute totes, pincushions, needle books and quilt…those doggie bandannas are too cute and Treacle makes a great model! Will you be able to sell everything to include enough for an hourly wage for yourself? Do keep track of the time it takes to make each item and pay yourself appropriately!! I’ve seen folks over here sell handmade quilts for less then the cost of materials – not good!!! Even those scraps cost the same amount per yard as your new stuff!
We think you’ll do terrific with your quilted goods, Miss Susie! Love you in your striking bandana, Treacle!
