My little friend, Blaze, has moved out with his Mummy & Daddy so I am back to being an only Dog again. A few of our friends have suggested to my Mummy that we need a cat to be my companion but Mom says that Blaze will be back to stay when they are away and Fiance is coming to stay with us in July with Blaze whilst Daddy and The Boys are away so if we had another cat here they may not get on. Also Honey, Eldest & Partners Labrador, may come and stay too when they are away so it is best that I remain King of this Castle.
Mom has been brushing me more than usual as she says I look scruffy and may need a spa day soon, but she doesn’t want to make the appointment yet as it is still cold here. Today the sun has been out but it is still cold so the little furry creature who predicted six more weeks of winter was probably correct. The bulbs in the garden are starting to come up so hopefully in a few weeks we will have lovely yellow flowers in the garden although the rest of it needs tidying. Mom says she will be getting jobs done when the weather gets a little better.
Going into March we usually get high winds as March begins or none at all so the old saying of March comes in like a Lion and goes out like a Lamb or it reverses. We have had quite a few days where it has already been windy so it may be coming in like a Lion. There is also the old saying of “March Winds doth Blow we shall have Snow”, Mom is really hoping we don’t get snow at this part of the year. She was also saying that how can the first two months of the year be over already? Of course I don’t know anything about that as my days are very much the same!
I did not want to get up the other morning! Mom was busy getting ready but I was not ready to meet the day! Both Mom and Dad have been getting up at 4.30am most mornings and that is really too early for me, even though I get to sleep in and also sleep during the day!
I hope you lovely lot are having a good week. Woof, Coco xx
Before Christmas the sewing room was full of gifts and boxes and everything Christmas! Mom and I could hardly move in there, so when all the parcels had been taken downstairs Mom sorted things out and gave the room a good clean and tidy. Since then we have spent a couple of weekends in there sewing but now it is absolutely full again of boxes and bags. They are all the things that Youngest & Fiance need for their new home and the sewing room is the best room to store them in! However we cannot move again!
They are going to be moving in to their new home a week on Saturday and we have more things being delivered, some of the heavy things are in the garage but then we have to get them over to their home. Of course one thing that I am going to really miss is Blaze, who will be going with his Mummy & Daddy.
We do have our moments but we do love each other’s company especially first thing in the morning. Mom says that Blaze will be able to come back and have sleep overs especially if Youngest & Fiance go away then he can come and stay with us. Mom says I will get used to it being just me and her again once they have moved out.
We have been all on our own before when Eldest had moved out the first time and Youngest used to stay at his girlfriend’s house so Mom, Dad and I were on our own but this time it will be all the time and for real! It will be quiet just the three of us but I know that I will be thoroughly spoilt by Mom and Dad!!!!!
Our weather has been dreadful over the last few days, very grey and overcast all day and then freezing at night and today it is raining. I have been coming in from the garden very wet and muddy and despite Mom wiping my paws all the time I have still manged to get muddy paws on my bed and the doormat!!! I am looking forward to Spring and the better weather.
It is my Birthday at the beginning of next month and I know Mom has already bought me some gifts as I found them and she has now put them on the top shelf. I can’t wait to see what I have got!!! My Birthday is the day after Fiance’s so we are going to have a double celebration!!!!
We had a busy weekend with lots happening but Mom says this coming weekend is quiet which will be lovely. I hope you all had a great weekend and a lovely week to come.
I know it is Wednesday but yesterday I had one of those days and did not get around to doing my Corner on Tuesday!
I had a slow start to the day yesterday. Mom and Dad were up but I did not want to get up at all! It was cold outside but nice and warm on the bed!!!
I did eventually get up and prepared to start the day and one of my jobs is to keep an eye out in the garden to guard against those pesky squirrels and cats. I have also recruited Blaze into the Watch!
Here we both are scanning the garden!
After that we both had our lunchtime treats and then I retired to my basket and Blaze went upstairs to Mom & Dad’s bed!
I did go out later on in the day and as you can see it is extremely frosty in the garden and it is very cold on my paws! Here I am stood on the deck where the den used to be, although the fence is still too tall for me to jump over, much to Mom’s relief!!!!
I hope you had a wonderful Woofy New Year and a great week.
There are lots of things happening at home recently; Parcels arriving at the door, different food being cooked which smells lovely and lots of decorations have appeared. I can’t wait for Santa Paws visit!
In fact it has been so busy at home with Mom and Dad that I got no sleep on Sunday at all. I usually have a snooze after my breakfast and then another snooze after my lunchtime biscuit and then a long sleep when I go to bed!! So Monday I was very, very tired.
Mom took the above picture during the morning. I am on my back with all four feet in the air and I was fast asleep.
Mom took this picture above. When I am asleep on my back my mouth opens a little bit and you can see all my little teeth at the front!!!!
One thing I am not so sure about is the Santa Hat which Mom usually gets out at this time of year. I don’t mind wearing my coat when it is very cold or raining but I don’t like things on my head, unlike Angel Treacle who loved wearing the Santa Hat!
Here is Angel Treacle with her Santa Hat and a new football for Christmas!
I am off now to see what Mom is doing in the kitchen I think there is more baking being done. Have a wonderful Woofy Christmas and I will see you in the New Year for some more Coco’s Corner.
Mom says I need a Spa Day! I think it is a good idea. She is going for her Spa Day this week so I definitely think I should have one too! She also needs to sort it out before all the appointments are booked before Christmas!
Now you all know we have a little lodger in the home, Blaze and we get along very well but I am not so sure about sharing pictures with him.
Here he is lying in my place but I managed to get my Quilt and lay on that whilst he was in my place!
Ha, Ha though I got him back because here I am on Youngest & Girlfriend’s bed and he was relegated to the floor!!
It is turning cold here and the leaves have been falling quite fast and I love running through them to see if I can find anything hiding. I saw the Squirrel the other day hopping about at the top of the garden and just watched him for a while but he was very busy digging in the lawn. Mom says he is busy burying nuts and things for winter! Grr in my garden!
Mom says Blaze is a very pretty cat but I am still very pretty and definitely her Baby!!! I will take that.
Every day as you are busy and getting on with work and jobs and all the other stuff you generally have to do in a week, your brain doesn’t really register things, especially time passing. It is only when someone says “oh so and so is 40 this year” or about their child “they are 18 this year” you realise how many years have gone past.
Well this was released on December 1st 1989 in the UK which is 35 years ago this year! OMG where did 35 years go? I love this film, if I am not well or feel down I put this film on and feel instantly better. I love the characters, the writing and the story. My only wish was that Nora Ephron had followed the film up with a book continuing Harry & Sally’s story.
I went to see the film at the cinema and was twenty five, been married to DH for one year and we had our first home and both working. So I guess I related to Sally, living in New York and going out to dinner with friends.
This of course was long before we had the Boys and one of our things was to go out on a Friday evening after work for dinner before the weekend which was always busy. At the time DH’s father was still alive and my Grandmother so we spent Saturdays visiting them and doing jobs or shopping for them and usually we had a disco to do on Saturday evening (DH has always done DJ work, although it is now more announcing). Sunday was Church and then getting things sorted for the week ahead. Fridays and Friday night have always been my favourite day of the week.
I think I will put this film on over the weekend and reminisce!!! DH is out all day Saturday again with announcing and I am determined to get some quilting done this weekend. Sunday we are supposed to do some gardening but it looks like it is going to rain for most of the day so we shall have to see. Youngest & Girlfriend will be home on Saturday after their week’s holiday.
Happy Thursday you lovely lot.
Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xxx
Partners in Crime, not sure what they are planning but is definitely something!!!!
Although it is the second week of September we are still having some nice sunshine but Autumn is starting to make itself known because most mornings we are waking up to misty mornings. Last night when I went to bed I also heard the Owls hooting which again is normally at this time of year.
The trees are also starting to turn, a little earlier this year than previous years.
The leaves in our garden are starting to turn as well and some are coming down. I will soon be getting our gadget out to get them up. We are hoping that this weekend is going to be nice as we have some garden maintenance to do, a couple of the posts on our fence need replacing so DH and Youngest are going to get them done and I am going to be putting our outdoor furniture away for winter, giving it a good clean beforehand. DH is busy most weekends from now until October, so this will be the weekend to get things done otherwise I know the weather will be bad by then.
The Fur Babies have worn themselves out today playing. This is Coco in her basket next to my desk and Blaze is asleep in DH’s chair, in the sunshine of course!
Busy week with work and I have to go and get a blood test on Wednesday but tomorrow Jayne and I are going to lunch which will be a lovely few hours. Have a wonderful week you lovely lot.
I had the busiest of weekends helping The Boys and Daddy with jobs in the garden, I mean I was in charge really directing operations and then I was helping Mummy in the kitchen with dinner.
The Girls and Little Man were also here too so I spent a lot of time running around with The Girls and I managed to get some kissess in with Little Man.
Mom says I need a good brush as I would not hold still when she tried to brush me on her own! I also have a few tangles and a few seeds in my furs at the moment!
This was this morning. I don’t think I have caught up on my sleep since the weekend and Mom was busy working at her desk. Blaze has been around and about today as well and we have been playing but eventually I gave up and came and had a sleep!!!
At the weekend Daddy is out all weekend so it will be just Mom and I and I know she is going to be in the sewing room getting things done, so I will be with her helping and directing operations there!
I have had a busy few weeks and Mom is trying to get me a Spa Day and Dad was away at the weekend and I got to spend the night snuggling with Mom and then Dad came home. I honestly don’t know if I am coming or going at the moment.
I am also going on my holidays soon and Mom is getting things ready for me to go. I saw extra food arrive the other day and I know I have some new toys to take, so I can’t wait to go.
The weather has been dreadful here and I have been getting wet most days when we have been out. Mom has been washing my towel every day and had to wash the back door mat when I came in from the garden the other day as it looked mud brown instead of the grey colour it is supposed to be!
Mom has even been keeping the back door closed because of all the rain and I have not been able to run in and out like I normally do in summer! I hope we get some nice warm and sunny days soon.
I have been meeting Blaze slowly and I think he is very furry but I am being very good with him and he has not hissed at me once, so Mom, Dad, Youngest & Girlfriend are really pleased with me. He had to go to his Doctor’s last week for his injections, I know his pain!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Woofy Week. Coco xxx
Mom and I got to sit outside for all of an hour on Saturday before it rained again. Mom had her cup of tea and I decided to get on the bench and sit next to her and keep an eye on my garden.
As you can see I am getting quite woolly again and I need a Spa Day and she is hoping to get me in before we are all on vacation.
Mom and Dad don’t know why I started doing this but when the mail comes through our letter box in our front door, I grab it and shake it like mad and quite often rip it up! So they tried to tell me not to and get to the post first but it has not been working. Well do you know what they have done? They have put one of these things onto the door and so when the Postman puts the mail through the flap it now falls into this cage!!!! Who would have thought that the mail needs a crate like I do!
Anyway it is working really well because I now stand at the mail crate and bark at it but I am so pleased with myself as I have not ripped it up and Mom does not shout at me now!!!!
This was me after about twenty minutes of sitting with Mom on the bench, I think I see a squirrel!
Last week was really busy and everyone was in and out at different times of the day and Mom was in charge of feeding me. Even with all the ins and outs I did not persuade anyone to give me two dinners because Mom was in charge, drat!!!!
I hope you had a lovely Woofy Weekend and a good week to come.
Coco xx
