Monday – Last Week Before Vacation.

Monday does come round quickly!!!  I managed two posts out of a possible seven last week!  I got to Wednesday and the week just spun away from me and then before I knew it, it was Friday!

Friday DH and I actually had a day off and we went out for lunch, this was my Birthday present from last year which had to be cancelled due to the extreme heat last year!  This, of course, was a worry because of all the heat we have had this year, a lot more than last year so far.  It was lunch on the steam train at Great Central Railway where we used to take our Boys and are now taking Little Man the The Girls.  It was a lovely two hours and the lunch was very good, especially as they cook all of it in the kitchen on the train.

DH and I then went over to Lowdham, DH’s Home village, and we did a few repairs to his parent’s headstone.  The section of the Churchyard where it is, is on a slight hill and this means that the headstones move and so we needed to clear the grass and soil from around it and put some new gravel down and also clean and re-do the letters, dates etc on it.  We had to do all this when it was nice and warm for it to dry and Friday was very nice and warm.  It was one of those jobs that we have been meaning to get done for a while and so Friday was too good an opportunity to miss.

Saturday and Sunday we were busy getting jobs done at home and in the garden before we go away next weekend.  We of course did not get all of them done but hoping to get them done during the evenings this week.  I am trying to be organised this week so that I do not get to Friday and frazzled!!!

One of my nice jobs to do this week is sort out the books I want to take with me for our vacation. Of course the problem will be not to take too many, but then what happens if I read them all?!!!!  I am definitely what is known as a “mood reader” and how do I know what mood I will be in and so what books to take?  It is a real conundrum.  There are definitely a couple of books I want to take with me which are long so it will be a good opportunity to get them started.  Do you read one book at a time or have two or three books on the go?  I tend to have at least a couple of books on the go just in case I find I want a change of pace or genre.  I will show you when I have chosen!!!!

I hope you lovely lot had a wonderful weekend, a good week to come and I will be here tomorrow.

Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx

I have one main book I am reading, then there is one in the bathroom and one in my car. I am reading through my shelf of Stuart Woods’ books. I’ve read about 8 so far and haven’t found a DNF yet!! I’m averaging 2 books a week!! I hope you get to Friday unbothered and have a safe drive to Scotland. Here’s to the weather being perfect for your entire holiday!!! xo FQ
