I have been trying to do some quilting each week and I did sort out my next “To Do” list. Why is it that having made the quilts and they look great and then after a few washes there are a few running repairs which need to be made? So I have three which need small repairs to, which I am going to get done. I still have one quilt to sew the binding to and then the quilt which was due at the end of November to sandwich and quilt! I then have to do the Memory Quilt. I have decided to get Eldest’s King size quilt done on a Long Arm, rather than try and do it on my machine.
My Heart’s in the Highlands
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the north,
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.
My heart’s in the Highlands, my heart is not here;
My heart’s in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;
A-chasing the wild-deer and following the roe,
My heart’s in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Farewell to the mountains high-cover’d with snow;
Farewell to the straths and green vallies below;
Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods;
Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.

DH & I are hoping to be back in the Highlands over Easter subject to Covid and all the other rubbish we have all had to deal with over the last two years! I am really keeping my fingers crossed we get to go!!!
I hope you lovely lot had a good week last week and a great one this.
Hugs & Love, Susie & Treacle.
Your Haggis, Neeps and Tatties look yummy. I’ve never had them but I would give them a try and I know that Molly would too! Paws and fingers are crossed that you get to go back to your highlands for Easter! I hope you get an early spring. I know the groundhog will tell us 6 more weeks of winter with all of the snow we have here and ice coming on Friday. Oh yay.
I went to a Robert Burns dinner with my parents once…I’m with DH and the boys!! The potatoes were fine, but the rest is a hard pass! My family (via my dad) traces his roots to the Farquarson clan, so they went to the dinner every year. Took my kids when they got old enough – they agreed with me on the food!
