Well we had a very busy weekend!  Lots of busy hours and for me not a lot of sleep!  DH was out at swimming on Saturday and Sunday, leaving home at 5.00am and then Saturday evening we were at the wedding reception.  We had a wonderful evening and not only did we see the Bride’s parents we also saw four other very good friends who we have not seen for over eighteen months.  We all sat together and spent the whole evening with them catching up and chatting and it was so, so nice.  We have all said that after Christmas they are coming to us for dinner!  We got there are 7.00pm and did not leave until 11.30pm!

Of course we spent such a wonderful evening chatting I did not get a lot of pictures!!!!  November is a good month to get married, it is our Wedding Anniversary next Friday!

We will be here on Wednesday and I cannot wait!  So looking forward to getting away for a few days, although we have already had one thing cancelled because of Covid!  So keeping everything crossed that nothing else gets cancelled.  I am hoping that the Christmas things will be up when we get there and I can get some great pictures!!! 

This one has the Boys at home with her so she will be thoroughly spoilt and pampered.  I have not managed to get her a Spa Day appointment yet!  She will be extra woolly by the time I get her there.  The same can be said for me, as my hairdresser has abandoned me because of various issues she has got.  The problem is trying to find someone who will cut it how I like it.  We have all had my hairdresser for over 27 years so it will be a huge change!  Hey ho.

Today is Bonfire or Guy Fawkes Night, it is known by both names, and in our family it was always Bonfire Night!  We are lucky that Treacle does not mind the fireworks or the loud bangs, she has a bark at a few and then gets in her basket and goes to sleep, although I know that lots of pets don’t like them.

We are not having any fireworks this year but I will do a Bonfire dinner of hot dogs and chips and apple pie and custard afterwards.  There are some big organised events on but we usually stay away from them because as you know I don’t like crowds!! 

This morning when I got up at 4.00am there was a hard frost on the ground and Treacle was stepping carefully on the grass as it was no doubt cold on her paws!  In fact she has spent the day next to the radiator!!!  It is definitely getting colder each day!

Tomorrow I have some quilting jobs to get done and some other things to get done and Sunday I am hoping to finish a few other things which have been hanging around!!

Winter Mode achieved!!! 

DH and I are off to London next week, a little bit of business and a little bit of downtime, especially as it is our Wedding Anniversary on the 12th.  So as it is Throwback Thursday I have selected a few of the pictures from previous London trips.  I know you have seen them before but still!!!!

We have a couple of visits booked and a Theatre trip which was cancelled from last year due to Covid (!) to go to and I am hoping that we will be able to do it all, just in case that the rules change again as cases are rising and they think they may have to bring in some more restrictions again.  Hopefully not another Lockdown especially as Christmas is racing towards us like a freight train! 

I have been working today so tomorrow will be home jobs day and grocery shopping and a few other errands to do.  Tomorrow is also Bonfire Night although we are not going out but will have a Bonfire dinner at home.  Saturday and Sunday DH is out compering a swimming event so I have two days in which I can get lots done.  Saturday evening we are going to the evening reception of the Boys Godparents their daughters wedding.  Hopefully I will get photographs!

I don’t know if I told you but we have been in our home now for twenty years, moved in on October 10th with the Builders!  The people who we bought it off built it, badly, so when we moved in we wanted to move walls round internally and when our Builder began we started to find all the problems!!  All the windows in the house were single glazed which are no good for heat retention and definitely useless with two boys aged 6 and 2 and a dog!  So we had them all replaced with double glazed units which, after twenty years, some have started to fail.

So the glass men are here today replacing various sizes of units in every room except the bathroom!!  DH has had to work from home today as well to help me with moving furniture, emptying our dressing room etc!  Anyway once this is done it will be one of our major jobs off our list!  Just now need the Den and Kitchen ceilings re-plastering!!

Somebody is getting very woolly again so I have put a call into her ladies at her Spa for an appointment, it is just trying to time it with now and Christmas!  It may be she will just need to go a little nearer to Christmas for a bath, she will be so pleased, NOT!

Christmas is fast approaching and I have been baking and have managed to get all that put away now.  DH is getting bookings for Christmas events already and I am busy sorting out dates for seeing friends and family. I am working on the basis that things will go ahead but keeping my fingers crossed! Jayne and I are planning a trip to Nottingham for some Christmas shopping and lunch of course!!!  Hopefully in the next few weeks. 

Tonight I have a huge basket of ironing to get done and tomorrow a few errands to run!  I hope you are having a good Tuesday.
