Have you ever noticed that rain can be sometimes loud and sometimes quiet?  Well it was quiet rain that fell all day today here.  The garden is looking very green.

No exams today but studying for them.  There is one tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday and Youngest’s final exam on Friday.  I am taking him out for lunch on Friday as a treat.  Did this for Eldest four years ago!!!!  Where does the time go?

It was Jayne’s Birthday yesterday, one of those BIG ones, Happy Birthday Jayne, It’s not too bad being that age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been in my sewing room (Eldest’s Room really) and have been doing different things, I find it really rather relaxing.

Got all my proper work done too!

My first job of the day, however, was to do this!!!!!!!!

Yep we have made it to Friday, although I think Friday is coming round more quickly these days!  Yesterday passed in a blur of taking Youngest to his exam and collecting him again and then taking him to DH who was at the exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham (!)  I managed to get back through the traffic and got my work finished and then sneaked off to my sewing room and got some things done.  Dinner interrupted the sewing for a while but then got some more done after everything was tidied up. 

The Baby who this quilt is for arrived yesterday at 5.30am and her name is Emily!  Mom, Dad and Emily are all doing well although the Grandparents have not been up to see her just yet and delivered the quilt.  Grandma is DH’s cousin on his Mom’s side so Emily is DH’s Third Cousin I think but it may be twice removed!!!  It all gets very confusing!!  However she is here safe and well.

Today the weather has been wonderful again, warm and dry but there are thunderstorms on the horizon because of the heat.  Oh well, we are enjoying it while we can.  Treacle is spending all day outside and as she is not sleeping during the day she is absolutely tuckered out by bed time!  It is so funny you can tell she is so tired!

DH is away all week at an exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham and then he and Youngest are visiting the Birmingham City University on Saturday for Youngest to have a look at the Drama course he wants to do and look round the campus. 

Having managed to get rid of my cold to DH (!) I have now got a water infection (!!!!!!!) for which I have antibiotics from the Doctor!  I hate taking medicine needlessly but having put up with this for over a week I just knew it was not going to go by itself!!!!!

Having got all my washing dried outside over the last few days, I now have a huge basket of ironing to do (!) so that is my job tonight.  Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get some more quilting done.

Since my last post, over a week ago, it has been busy, busy, busy here but what else is new!  The weather over the previous week has been strange to say the least with quite a few days being really cold, so much so that the Boys were asking if we could switch the heating back on – NO!  Its June for goodness sake!  However over the weekend the weather has been wonderfully warm and very summery.  Today there has not been a cloud in the sky and it has been warm, not too hot, just lovely.  Of course it is not due to last but we make the most of it whilst it is here.

I also managed to finish the Spring Cleaning, even though it is the start of summer, with DH’s help.  It is a pain doing it but I love it when its done.  Because of the nice weather I have also been getting through the curtain washing and all the bed cover protectors. 

When DH’s Uncle John passed away last year we were left some money and we bought this sculpture to remember him and DH’s Dad.  The real name of the sculpture is Tom and Fred but we have renamed it Bill and John after them.  It now has proud of place on our bookcase.

Youngest had last week off as it was half term and he did more revising for the remaining ten exams!  He is doing okay but it will be a nervous wait until the results at the end of August.
