Glorious!

We have had the most glorious three days of warm sunny weather, which is unusual for May here in the UK!  Treacle has spent the three days outside from first thing in the morning until bed time which has meant she is so tired, as she is not sleeping during the day!!!!

Friday  I went to see a friend for coffee and I had helped her out with some work so she bought me these.  It was a great couple of hours catching up.

DSC05253They are lovely.  I also popped up to the farm shop and saw this gang.  The lambs are getting big now.

Saturday was spent doing the garden and we have a tiny strip of land between our drive and the neighbours which needed attention.  The plants have done really well but were getting too big, so you couldn’t get past the cars to our outdoor steps, so DH and I trimmed them back and got the weeds out and put down some weed suppressant and some new stones.  It now looks so much better.

Our neighbour grows dandelions in his drive (!!!!!)

Sunday Youngest was swimming at a local competition and came second in his three races and got medals but also got PBs’ as well.  I did get some sewing done as yesterday was the hottest day and Eldest’s room is at the front of our home and the sun is on the back so it was cool in there.

Today has also been wonderfully warm so I have managed to get a set of curtains washed and then dried outside and also some winter bedding and the swimming things from yesterday.  I managed to get all my ironing done this morning while it was still cool and my work and then got to eat my lunch outside.

Tomorrow the weather is due to go back to our normal with lots of rain and cooler temperatures :(.  We always have to make the most of the sunshine when we see it, as our weather is never the same one day to the next!

I hope your Monday is going well

Creepy Crawlies!

Last night I got Youngest back from school at 7.30pm as he had been there to see the other Drama exam performances.  I managed to get the binding sewn on to my commission quilt which took me until 9.30pm but I had had enough by then so went to bed.  DH was still at work so Treacle takes advantage and hops on the bed on his side!   I was quite happy watching a TV programme when one of these shot down the curtains doing an impression of Usain Bolt!!!!!!!

Now fortunately in our country we don’t have anything poisonous but I hate them.  Someone once suggested that I go on one of these courses where you face your fears!  Well there is no way I am going somewhere and have spiders crawling all over me!!!!  Life is far too short!!!!

The horrible thing had gone down behind my reading chair in our room and I was not going to get out of bed and investigate.  The big brave dog was oblivious of it all!!!!!  DH got back for work just after all this and as soon as he got in I shouted for help!!!!!  He wafted the curtains and said he could not see it and it was probably gone.  Needless to say I didn’t believe him and he knew I probably wouldn’t stay in the room if he didn’t find it!!!!!  While he was telling me about his day it ran out from under the chair but he was not quick enough to get it, but he moved the chair and it was again half way up the curtain!!!  It was dispatched!!!

Now I know some of you will be horrified about it being dispatched and we do, where we can, catch them and let them go but this thing was running too fast and DH did not want to loose it again.

I think my fear of spiders started when I lived at home and we had this ornate bottom of the staircase which was just right to throw your scarf round in the winter.  So this one winter’s morning I got my scarf and put it on (it was navy), I walked into the kitchen to say goodbye to Mom, when I felt something on my neck which I brushed off to find one of these monsters on the floor!!!!!  I shrieked and was almost sick and fortunately my Mom’s Airedale, Kelly, pounced on it and killed it!!!!!   Ever since then yuck…………………   I just wish they would stay in the garden and not come in the house!!!!

This is also one of the reasons why Australia is way down on my list of places to visit as they have far creepy crawlies over there that want to kill you!!!!!!

I hope your Thursday is going well

The Wednesday Wag!

I have not been able to play with my new toy that Youngest bought for me while he was away on vacation.  I love these chew strings and they managed to find this really long one!

Here we are having a game of tug before school!  My teeth are fine now!

It is exhausting keeping Youngest entertained, I need a rest!

The weather is getting much better here and warmer, snow last week and sun and warm temperatures this, although they have forecast thunderstorms for the weekend!  I don’t like thunderstorms!

Dad, Mom and Youngest were out last night as it was Youngest’s first exam, Drama.  They were all happy when they got home and Youngest was playing so I think it went well!!!  I am glad I don’t have to take any tests.

Have a Woofy Wednesday
