We haven’t had a Throwback Thursday for a while so I have had a look through our pictures.
Thought you would like this one; Eldest at one day old top picture and Tobey at one day old bottom picture. I think you can tell who Tobey’s Daddy is?
The Boys at February School Half Term in London 2005, almost twenty years ago! Where does the time go. Eldest was nine and Youngest was five.
We also visited The British Library and this was one of the seats in the entrance.
Treacle asleep on Eldest’s bed in the sewing room. She loved keeping me company whilst I was sewing, just like Coco, although she does not have a bed to sleep on just her basket!
Been a busy old day and tomorrow I am helping Eldest and then Friday will be home jobs day! Normally on Leap Day I would be doing something different to work but unfortunately that has not worked out this year. I will have to find another day where I can do some quilting or some reading!!!
Ever since Eldest moved out and I have been camping in his room with my sewing things, I forgot to show you some pictures. Finally got around to doing some pictures. Coco in her basket in the room.
Eldest when he moved back, moved the room round so his desk which sat this way originally was moved to the other wall to get a kingsize bed in. Fortunately we had kept Youngest’s desk which was freestanding so put that here.
The shelves in the room with my things on which I think I have found most of them now, having packed it all up when Eldest moved back!
DH & The Boys bought me this a few years ago and finally I have been able to get it out and on display. I want to have a go using it but have too many things at the moment which need finishing before I can have a play.
Coco keeping an eye on things.
I bought these two chest of drawers from Ikea. They have two large drawers and two smaller ones and then the shelves. It has all my fabric in.
My ironing table.
I have a small DVD player and a monitor and sound bar to have things on when I am sewing. At the moment it is Dad’s Army. A great comedy programme from the 1970’s. For those that know the show this particular episode is the famous one with the phrase “Don’t tell him Pike!”
This is the blind over the window and a picture of Loch Mhor where we stay in Scotland and I had to have this Highland Cow clock!
DH bought me this for Christmas!! Very true.
Coco has three phases in her basket. Sitting, lying down and finally the all four feet in the air deep sleep. When she is in that position she actually snores!
Yes I know this is supposed to be a Quilting blog! Here are some quilty things; Thomas The Tank Engine fabric for a quilt for Tobey. You know I would just have to make one for him, as well as the other two I have material for!!!
I have a few other things to finish before I get on to this one.
I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. Half way through the week!
I had a busy weekend. Youngest took me on an extra long walk as the weather had been better after all the rain we have had in recent weeks.
Mom gave me a long brush and cleaned my teefths!!!
Here I am with Youngest next to the Reservoir where we were walking. Although the paths are very good it was still very muddy and I had to have a wash when I got home. At least it was not raining.
I was so tired afterwards I fell asleep next to my bed and the door was keeping me propped up!!!
I did get in my basket eventually and when I was asleep on my back I was grinning in my sleep!!!!!
This was when I went out on the patio last thing, it was a good day for a long walk!
I hope you are having a wonderful Woofy Week. Next weekend we have visitors coming!
After what seems like years of rain this Winter, we finally had some sunshine on Saturday and it was so nice. Of course it was frosty the next morning and cold but that did not matter, we saw the sun!!!
I ran out of time to put any bulbs into the pots in Autumn so there is a distinct lack of flowers coming up but the Primulas and the Snowdrops are flowering, as well as the Christmas Roses.
Still need to do a lot of tidying in the garden but definitely when the weather is better, I am a fair weather gardener!!!
Coco had a very busy weekend which she will tell you about tomorrow!!
Tobey pictures. The one above was first and the one above that was after the bath!!!
DH was out all weekend at a swimming event and I got some jobs done although yesterday was a wash out as I was so tired! I spent the morning reading my book, had a bath, cooked dinner and then watched a little TV. Fortunately this week is a normal business week as well as visits to see Tobey and all the other things I normally do too. I really could do with an extra two days in a week, although we do have one extra day this week! Normally I would not work on February 29th but do some quilting or reading but as it is Thursday I will be helping out at Eldests, c’est la vie!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and good week to come.
Took a little break from the Blog over the last two weeks as it has been extremely busy here as you can imagine. Little Man is growing before our eyes and is now back to his birth weight, so the Midwives are really happy with him.
Bathed, changed and ready for bed!
Ready for his first outing in his pram, more jacket than him!
Waiting to be changed and fed again!
I have been busy with work too and managed to get caught up with ours and Eldest’s, which was a relief. Home jobs are going to be done tomorrow and grocery shopping today and then DH is out all weekend at two different swimming events! Like buses they call along in pairs!
Last weekend was the first weekend we had nothing on since the New Year and I had lots of plans of getting jobs done and guess what? We did absolutely nothing! We did not get up too early and then we watched a bit of TV, I made dinner and that was it for both days. It was rather nice although the jobs still need doing at some point!!!!!!
This is the Hotel Reception that Youngest and the swimmers stayed in.
Youngest got back from Lanzarote on Monday and the three coaches and three team manager Mums were shattered, but they ALL had a wonderful time. So much so that as soon as they got back they wanted to know if they can go again next year!
This the 50m pool they were training in.
The Head Coach and swimmers.
They all said it was very hot and a nice change from all the rain we have had here in the UK. I am very jealous! We have had so much rain over the last few days that the rivers are bursting their banks again and our garden is so very, very wet! Our pond is very full and we may have to take some water out of it!
Coco is fed up with all the rain and especially when she comes in and has to be dried. This was her looking out of our back door but not going out as it was raining!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and we will be back to normal next week.
The three of them are home and getting settled. We had Honey for the day and night and took her home on Monday evening and she was so pleased to see them. Loved the new little one although was very worried when he cried!
In his basket downstairs.
In his basket upstairs!
We took Honey home and I brought dinner and then Tobey had his first bath. Not a happy bunny (typical Boy). All nice and clean and ready for bed.
Honey keeping watch.
It has been a very, very busy week. Tomorrow Youngest is off to Lanzarote and is all packed. They are flying out at 7.00am! I am with the other two to help do the home jobs so Suzie can look after Tobey and taking dinner up again. Friday will be home jobs for me and grocery shopping and the weekend DH and I are going out and also getting some jobs done at home too. Got to make the most of when DH is at home to get things done. The following weekend is another swimming weekend!
I am also hoping that the weather is going to be kind and perhaps get some jobs done in the garden, as it is in desperate need of some tidying! DH did put up the outside lights which was a job we were going to do last year but never got around to it. They look great. I am really hoping we are going to have some lovely warm weather so we can sit outside and enjoy the garden and the lights.
I am up to date with all our work. Just need to get the swimming things sorted as we have a new database for that and things need to be added but we are getting there. Eldest’s books need to be done but there has not been too much happening because of the arrival. It won’t take long to sort that out.
I promise not to overload you with too many pictures of the new born! We got to see him on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and they are hoping that they will be able to come home today. We have Honey with us at the moment and as I write this they, Coco and Honey, are in their own crates in a time out!!!
Of course now Tobey is here you can forget about photographs with your face in them now!!! JUST the chin and nose!!!!
They have a photographer come round on the ward and you can have pictures if you like so Eldest and Partner decided to have a few which are the ones above. Love the one with their two hands and Tobey’s feet.
His Big Sisters got to visit too. Just look at those faces.
As they are still in, we have Honey until they get home. DH went to fetch her last night.
The girls playing!
Honey can manage to get under our bed but Coco doesn’t know how to, so we have a stand off!
Busy today trying to catch up on work, home jobs and the washing & ironing since the weekend was so busy! Youngest is away from Thursday to Lanzarote with the swimmers and I am very envious! DH and I have next weekend to ourselves, in between no doubt visiting and getting some jobs done round our home! It will be a nice break!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a good week to come.
This little chunk, Punxsutawney Phil not the Gentleman holding him (!), DID NOT see his shadow this morning so we have an early Spring on the way. I do hope so as I am very fed up with grey skys and rain.
I have had a lovely day NOT working!! I got all my jobs done yesterday so I managed to have coffee with a very good friend of ours who we have known for over thirty years. They have known our Boys since they were born and of course is very excited for the new arrival. She is a wonderful knitter and has knitted this little jacket, hat and booties for when the baby arrives. They are wonderful and the picture does not do them justice.
I took them straight up to the parents to be for them to put in the nursery, along with Teddy.
DH got home early and loaded all the equipment up and went off to set up for tomorrow. He will be going out early too. I am quilting tomorrow and no doubt Coco will be in her basket next to my sewing table! I have also a few other nice jobs to do over the weekend too.
I have not got around to taking pictures of the Books that the Boys and DH bought me for Christmas. I did have a lovely book token from my good friend, Jayne, for Christmas and here are the Books I bought with that.
I also got a Paddington Bear book for the baby too.
I have a very large TBR bookshelf at the moment so my aim this year is to not buy any more books and read what I have already got. However you know what we Bookworms are like we see a book and well suddenly it is in the basket and we are waiting to pay!!!!! On line shopping is very convenient these days but it can be a nightmare for us Bookworms, you can click away and before you know it there are five books in the basket. Although I still say that Books are still a great buy; so the Christmas Murder book is £8.99 which is two Cappuccinos at Starbucks. I know which I prefer and no it isn’t the coffee!!!
I hope you lovely lot have a great weekend, whatever you are up to.
Elmo from Sesame Street asked everyone yesterday “How is everyone doing?” not realising how many people would respond with; not very well! If a person had asked us that question, we would all probably have said “fine, bit tired and fed up with the weather but okay” when in fact we probably wanted to say “no we are not fine, it is January, there seems to have been twelve weeks in January, I still haven’t been paid and I am so tired of all the bad news”!!!!!!!!!!!
I am definitely fed up with our weather, cold, grey and more rain; I am definitely fed up with the news and all the doomsayers of another World War; I am definitely fed up with swimming at the moment; I am definitely fed up with ALL political parties; I am definitely fed up with one of the companies we work with and a million other little things!
So we have turned the first page of the calendar and it is now February, I hope it is going to be a bit better!
This was yesterday morning sunrise and a frosty morning, it did not stay like this for long, it was soon grey and raining!
Things are moving along with Eldest, Partner and their baby. At the moment it is the third week of February but they are keeping an eye on things, so anytime from now until then!! They have everything ready; the nursery is done, bag for the hospital is packed and car seat ready. We have been getting them some things of course and this was my latest purchase.
Isn’t he cute? and is quite big! He will be put on the shelf for when Baby is a bit bigger! At the moment Teddy is on the top shelf of my desk out of someone’s way! Coco thought it was for her, nope!!!!!
It’s Friday tomorrow! Yeah. Although DH is out tomorrow evening setting up the swimming announcing system and then there all weekend. Next week he is away all week at a business exhibition and then when he gets back on Friday repeats the whole set up and weekend event again! I am quite glad when these two weekends and this exhibition are over! Then Youngest will be away with the older swimmers in Lanzrote. I do so wish I would be going as well!!! Of course we may be busy by then! Before we know it, it will be the end of February! When I was little I always thought that February was a realllllllly long month, although of course it is the shortest. Not this year of course as it is a Leap Year.
Happy Thursday you lovely lot.
Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx
