Books I Have Read In 2017!

The Library at Chatsworth House – I could spend hours in here!

Monty Don is a presenter and best know in the UK for his gardening programme on the BBC, Gardener’s World.  This book is about his Golden Retriever Nigel, seen here in the picture with him, and their life in the garden where Gardener’s World is filmed.  Nigel and his sister Nelly are always with him.  I have just started reading it but I love it.  Youngest bought it me for Christmas.

One of my favourite authors and I am so glad he continues to write.  This one is as good as all the others and another new character to follow.  Highly recommend David Baldacci and all his books if you want to read some thrillers.

Another favourite author and especially the Lincoln Rhyme thrillers.  Jeffery Deaver keeps the suspense up through all the pagers and is well worth reading.

So having read the David Baldacci book above “The Last Mile” I realised that was Book 2 and this book introduces the Amos Decker character (!) so I am now reading this.  So if you want a new series to read, read this one first and then the one above.

51M5q-zu7BL  This is a one I have read before book but I love Matthew Reilly’s books.  They are very well written and do keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting to read the next few pages and the next few pages!!!!!  Very much mystery and adventure stories.

81PQHkJGJJL  I had some book tokens for my Birthday so spent a few hours whilst away on vacation in the book store!!!  I came out with this wanting a what I call frothy read!!  Something not too taxing and this was it.  A story of a woman’s unique revenge on her  cheating husband.

51qnHRNbGZL  This was also a new buy, and I really enjoyed it about a future, which may happen, where life is lived in the virtual world and a contest to obtain a fortune.

61QJ1IvsbJL  I love history and this if a fiction story around the events of the Great Fire of London.  Murder is all around hiding in the ruins of London.  I really enojoyed this book and would recommend it if you like mysteries and history!

91kyiGqW+YL  Just started this, about a man whose life could have taken two paths, the one he is on and the one he could have had, which one will he choose in the end?  I will let you know how it is when I have finished it.

UPDATE:  Didn’t finish it.  Slow getting the story started and the characters were too full of themselves so I suggest you don’t read it.

Started this now and it is so much better than the above book but all of David Baldacci’s books are good.  Haven’t finished it yet but I am engrossed in it.
