Busy Weekend!

Sorry I didn’t post anything over the weekend but we had the Swimming Club Open on Saturday evening and all day Sunday and it was very, very busy and very long events.  In fact DH and I got home at 8.00pm last night, had dinner and fell into bed!!!!

Anyway I will go back to showing you what we were all up to over the Christmas Holidays.  On Saturday December 22nd we hosted our Christmas Party at home with our closest friends, who we have known for over 30 years.  We have not done this for a while and as it was our 30th Wedding Anniversary this year and Eldest and Fiancè got engaged we thought it was a great idea to celebrate.

Here are a few pictures from the evening.  I had some candles lit outside our front door to welcome our guests.  Glasses ready.  Table decoration and candle for the dining table and candles in our sitting room also with the tree.  We moved the dining table to the window to make more room.  I decided to do beef bourguignon and chili for dinner with various accompaniments.  Drink anyone?  My kitchen before (it didn’t look like that when we have finished!!!!!!)

We had a lovely evening with everyone and the last went home at 2.00am ish so DH and I just put the food in  the fridge and went to bed and cleared up on the Sunday!!!  For some unknown reason I woke up at 3.00am on Christmas Eve and as I had a few things left to do before the Big Day I got up and did all the jobs!  It was so quiet in our home, Treacle, DH and Youngest were all asleep so I had a film quietly playing in the kitchen whilst I got on with my jobs and I really enjoyed it.

Our Christmas cake ready and waiting.  The infamous Chocolate Log (for those who don’t know Treacle a few year’s ago ate it all before Christmas!!!  Fortunately she was not ill which was amazing for how much chocolate was on it!!!  Needless to say it is always now put way, way out of her reach!  Treacle busy “helping” with the jobs!

DH an I went to collect the meat for Christmas in the morning of Christmas Eve and we had some lunch out and then in the evening he was compering for “Carols Round The Tree” in the small town near us.  I did not go as I had a basket of ironing to finish and as DH and Youngest were out I got on with that.

Tomorrow I will show you Christmas Day and Boxing Day at Home.

Hugs, Susie xx

Your home looks beautiful for the holidays and the cakes look delicious! I’m sure all of the guests had an awesome time! We just adore that shot of you from up above, Treacle!

Your home looks so inviting for your guests!! Your cakes look amazing and are making my mouth water! Treacle would be loving it here right now – we got 5 inches of heavy, wet snow yesterday/last night! Tara hunts for the clear areas next to the house because she doesn’t like snow on her dainty toes or belly!!! BTW, she loves the treats you sent her…she gets 1 inch a day so she can keep her girlish figure!!
