Summer.

The above quote sums up how I see summer.  I spent a lot of summer holidays when I was at school at our local library as they always ran reading schemes and I would devour books.  In fact I still do when we go on holiday.  The joy of being able to read and read without having to get on and do jobs or work is what a summer holiday is all about and not feeling guilty about it!

However I cannot believe it is June 1st already!  However the first five months of the year have been extremely busy and June is my Birthday month!!!  I am hoping that the weather stays nice too.

Youngest finished as a main Coach/Teacher at the swimming club last night (he will continue to do cover for holidays etc) and so his Dad, who is also Chairman, presented him with a Thank You and a card that everyone and I mean everyone had signed.  All the swimmers were there but you cannot see them for security reasons.

It was quite a thing as he has been at the club since he learnt to swim when he was five and then progressed into the main pool and competition swimming, being Captain of the club for two years, like his brother, and then taking his teaching and coaching exams.  He has decided he wanted to try something different as a job and feels that it will be a good thing to have something different on his CV so he now has a job at a local theme park for little ones called Gulliver’s Kingdom.  He started on Wednesday and has enjoyed it so far, although yesterday was a bit traumatic!  We shall see if it lasts or whether he will prefer the coaching to what he is doing now.  The swimmers are very sorry he is leaving.

I didn’t get all my jobs done yesterday so that is today’s jobs and some errands to run.  DH is out tomorrow so I am hoping to get some quilting done and then Sunday the weather is supposed to be nice again so we are going to finish the gardening and also get the front of our home tidied up.  That will be the weekend done!!!!!

So whatever you lovely lot are up to this weekend I hope you have a great time and the weather is kind.

Happy Friday!

Hugs, Susie xx

We cannot believe that it’s June already either, Miss Susie. Where does the time go?
Congratulations to youngest! Mom loves reading too – especially now that she has more time☺

Congratulations to Youngest!! I adore reading as well and always have a book going. Least expensive trip I can take is with a book! Regardless of your job, I think traumatic things happen…hope he recovers and has a blast this summer. Is he going to continue his acting career?
