A New Week!

After a lot of finger crossing, Saturday evening brightened up and we saw the sun so we were able to have dinner outside after all!!!

We English must seem really daft to everyone who has good weather all summer, when we continually worry about it if is going to rain when we host outdoor events!!!!  To us it is a miracle to plan something outdoors and for it to happen without having to scuttle indoors half way through because the Heavens have opened!!!  We had a lovely evening and our friends really enjoyed it too, so success all round.

Of course after the extreme heat of the previous week our temperatures came back to our normal summer ones of 70°F which seemed quite chilly!!!  You see we Brits are never satisfied with our weather, ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday saw the start of Carnival week, the weather was fine (!), and so this week will be a string of late nights which means crabby Boys (!), crabby DH (!) and even crabbier Mom!!!!  I know you are not supposed to wish your life away but I will sure not be sorry to get to the end of Carnival week.  It’s not that I don’t enjoy it but when you are involved with the organisation of things it can just get all a bit much!!!!!  Let’s hope the weather stays fine for the whole week!

I am still quilting Youngest’s quilt, above, and have decided to do horizontal lines on it rather than a heavy quilt pattern, so you will be able to see the pictures still.  However because it is so big it is taking a while to get it done, but I am determined it will be done before we go away on vacation.

I hope you all had a great Summer weekend.

Hugs, Susie x

Everything looks so beautiful and we are so happy that the weather cooperated and you could entertain outside, Miss Susie! Youngest’s quilt is coming along fabulously!

You certainly set a beautiful table!! So glad the weather cooperated and you were able to eat outside in the garden without the mad dash to get in before the rains!! Love Youngest’s quilt and can’t wait to see it finished!!
