Holiday!

Oh my it is May 1st where are the months going?

Today is a holiday here in the UK and we call them Bank Holidays because of a law which was passed in 1871 regarding Banking!  Anyway you can guarantee if it is a Bank Holiday then the weather is usally wet and today it was!!!

However it meant that, with DH’s help, I finished the Spring Cleaning!!!  The whole house has been cleaned, washed, dusted and sorted to within an inch of its life!!! All I have left to do is wash some curtains and change winter bedding and clothes for summer things and we are done!  Now we have to tackle the garden!!!

Treacle has been helping, well by supervising! Here she is in supervising mode!!!

I managed to get some more quilting done and have almost finished piecing my second super secret quilt and then I will be on to Youngest’s.

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Hugs, Susie x

Bummer that the weather didn’t cooperate on your holiday. You sure did get a lot done, Miss Susie! It will make your quilting projects that much sweeter knowing that you’re all caught up!

It’s amazing how some holidays start and just last forever and lots of us have no idea what the real meaning is behind the holiday. One day my son who just turned 40 was talking about one of the our holidays in the US and said – whichever one it is – many people get Memorial Day – to honor our veterans and Labor Day – to honor working folks confused. I think it’s because lately it’s some of the days that or flag is flown more predominantly, unfortunately. I visited England a couple of years ago and found it to be a very warm country. The people were not afraid of our taking pictures of them or little ones like we are in the US. Maybe it was because I was a grandma type or maybe that’s just the culture. The people offered their first names to go with pictures. It was like being home without ever having been there. My grandfather was from England. It’s nice to see that some people still do spring cleaning. I don’t anymore – I have an invisible disability and I’m just too exhausted. Love your post.
