Yesterday was March 1st and the first month of Spring and the weather was very kind to us in Derbyshire with the sun shining, although it was cold, it was great to see the sun.  The above quote to me really typifies the start of Spring, written by the famous author A.A. Milne who is better known for the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, a huge favourite of mine and our Boys.

The stories are very simple but are a wonderful part of childhood and we really enjoyed reading them to the Boys when they were little. 

So as it is Thursday here is a throwback of our Boys with their bikes.  They used to take them with us on holiday during the Easter break to Scotland for them to learn to ride without their stabilisers as Auntie Corinne and Uncle Gordon had loads of room at their home in The Highlands. 

Been busy today catching up on work and Treacle has been keeping me company in her basket (!) and tomorrow it is house jobs day, ironing and grocery shopping, oh joy!  Saturday Fliss, Lee and Evalyn are coming for a visit and Sunday I am going to catch up on those house jobs I have been putting off.  Saturday night Youngest and DH are out at a swimming competition so I will be taking the opportunity to finish some of the quilt bindings which need doing. 

A friend said yesterday “how come it is March already?” and I cannot believe that we have started the third month of the year, but when I look back on what we have been doing in the last two months It has been crazy, busy!  Before we know it, it will be Carnival time in the village and we will be six months through the year and some clown will be telling us how long it is until Christmas (apparently 298!!!!!!!!!).  Which reminds me if I need to do any quilting jobs for Christmas I really should start them now!!!
