Well Youngest has only been back at school for three days and oh boy does it seem that we did not have a holiday!!!!!! Manic City next stop!!!!!!
DH had to go to Aberdeen for a conference and was away for two days (this is not too far from where we stay on holiday in Scotland!). He left lunchtime on Wednesday and didn’t get home until 2.40am on Friday morning!!! We were all up again at 6.00am for him to then go to Bridlington!!!! I had to dash over to Nottingham, avoiding the Round Britain Bike Ride which was shutting various roads as it went and to get home I had to do a ten mile divert! Thursday night I spent three and a quarter hours at swimming and came home with a headache.
Friday night we were out at a Charity Ball with some friends of one of the companies we work with. The MD had decided to support this good cause instead of having a Christmas Party which confused Youngest completely when we said we were going to an Alternate Christmas Party in September!!!!!
In all the chaos I missed yesterday!
A day we should all remember and where has fourteen years gone?
Today Youngest and DH are at a swimming event and I am trying to get Girlfriend’s Quilt done! Have you ever had a quilt that right from the start it just did not go well? Well this one is mine!!! I had trouble getting the blocks made, with a lot of procrastinating on my part! Then getting the thing sandwiched; I just got it all pinned and there was a ruck on the back!!!!!! So out all the pins came and I then laid it on the floor! DH in the end had to finish pinning it for me as my knees were complaining too much!!!!! Now I am quilting it and it is being awkward again! Hmm!
Tomorrow Youngest is doing a Triathlon not far from us, 400m swim, 18k bike ride and 5k run! I am having to go as DH is at the AGM for the East Midlands swimming!! I can’t say I am looking forward to it as I have got to organise Youngest. I think it is going to be a long day!
I am hoping that next week will be a little more orgnised! Well I will try to be anyway. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Oh, I’m hitching up to your crazy train!!! Today is the bridal shower for my soon-to-be DIL, starting Thursday is our town’s Deutches Fest that lasts the weekend and the whole town participates (I need to make kuchen and pies), Saturday I have to have 2 quilts to my longarm quilting guild for a show, then I’m driving to Reno on Sunday to see my dad and leave my dog with him for the duration of the wedding, then I’m providing the dinner for the wedding rehearsal (50 people) which is 3 hours away from me on Oct. 2, and then on Oct. 4 I’ll head back down to Reno to collect my dog and spend a few days with my dad before I head back home to work in the huge quilt show in Spokane. I’m really looking forward to November…oh, then we have the craziness of Christmas to get ready for!! Maybe January I can breathe!!! I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of the quilt for your friend!!
