We made it to Friday! Today it is very warm and humid but not sunny, so Treacle is making the most of the garden while she can, because tonight the forecast is for thunder storms for most of the night.
DH is on his way back from Aberdeen but won’t get back until late so it will be Youngest, Treacle and I hiding under the covers!!!!! None of us are very keen on thunderstorms.
However it won’t matter as I will be doing this over the weekend!!!!! In fact today I have had a free afternoon and I have been planning my last two super secret quilts that I need to get done and also tidying up my material which is all spread out in Eldest’s room at the moment! Oops!!!!!
Hopefully by Monday I will be able to show you some quilty things!!!!!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and the weather is kind to you where you are.
Hugs, Susie x
Keeping hold of the stick as Treacle finished off my ice cream for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eldest on His Tenth Birthday!
Youngest on his Tenth Birthday!
I thought I would show you pictures of when they were Ten as Eldest will be celebrating his Twentieth at the end of August! Somehow Youngest looks younger than Eldest in the pictures!!!! Just shows that although they are brothers they have their very own personalities. And we love them to bits.
Treacle is making the most of the sunshine today and tomorrow as the weekend is set for heavy rain and cold again! 😦 She is also booked into her Spa for a much needed haircut and wash, but I could not get her in until a week tomorrow. Obviously all the doggies, or their owners, have had the same idea!!!!!
I am car-less today as it is in for its MOT and service so DH is chauffeur today! However he is abandoning me after lunch to drive to Aberdeen to see a customer and he will be staying overnight!
However if it is going to be raining over the weekend it is the perfect excuse to be able to quilt, as I can’t possibly get into the garden!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you are having a Thrilling Summer Thursday.
Hugs, Susie x
Mom, Dad and I went for our long walk at the weekend and it was such fun, especially getting to smell all new smells. The weather was sunny but not too warm so I liked it.
Here is Dad and I and there were two dogs coming past.
This is the view Mom took looking over the hills in the Peak District.
Dad and I stopped for a little while
These are some rhododendrons and honeysuckle we came upon on our walk and they are from an old garden of a ruined house which Dad and I found.
Further round in our walk
When we got back to the truck we had a picnic. This is the basket that Mom got from Eldest and Girlfriend for Christmas.
The best bit about the truck is I can sit in the back with my water container out of the sun. However when we travel I get to sit in the seats in the cab with Mom and Dad.
We had a great walk and hopefully we can do it again soon.
Hope you have a Woofy Wonderful Wednesday
Well we made it through the week and yes it is Friday!!!!!!
It has been one of those weeks here, where everything which was planned didn’t happen and things I didn’t plan did!!!!! However we are hoping that the weekend is going to be better.
The weather definitely is as it is supposed to be warm and sunny so that is definitely a bonus. Youngest is swimming tomorrow evening in a gala for the club and I am planning to do the ironing whilst he and DH are out! Do you remember when you were younger and you used to be out on a Saturday evening doing fun things!!!!!!!!
Sunday is a “chill” day and if the weather is good we are going to get out with Treacle for a long walk. There are always jobs to do around the home and garden but sometimes you just have to not do them and get out! Well that is my excuse anyway. The house jobs haven’t got done this week because of work and other things so I am planning to do them early Saturday morning. You feel great when they are all done but a week goes by and it all needs doing again!
I hope everyone is having a Fabulous Friday and a Great Weekend!
Hugs, Susie x
Treacle’s started the Weekend already!
It actually feels like summer today and Mom has let me have the door open all day so I can run in and out as I please! I love summer when I can do this.
Of course the summer weather brings out all sorts of animals, including the birds who visit the garden for the seeds which Mom and Dad put out. My next door neighbours are three cats and in the warm weather they sleep on the roof of their conservatory and I can see them, but I cant get to them!!!! Here I am watching them sunbathing!
After a while I get tired of watching those darn cats do nothing so I decided to have a sleep myself on my deck. Of course if I could only jump off the deck onto their conservatory roof, then I could get at those pesky cats!!
Mom says hopefully if the weekend is nice we may go for an extra, extra, extra long walk with Dad and Youngest, so I am keeping my paws crossed for good weather.
I hope you are having a wonderfully warm Woofy Wednesday
Whilst Youngest was off last week on holiday we did his Third Drive. We started this with Eldest where they get to drive round an area at the racetrack and learn how to operate the car, manoeuvre around obstacles, reverse etc. Basically everything you learn when you learn to drive but at a younger age (we can’t start learning to drive in the UK until we are 17).
Eldest found this a real help when he did start learning to drive properly, so we have carried on with Youngest. He had a great day. So this was his Third Drive and with that he got to do two laps of the track!
Getting in to do his two laps.
On the track.
Afterwards we went for Pizza and then to visit DH’s Aunt in our hometown, Nottingham. A great day. His next drive, next year, will be the Fourth when he gets an hour on the skid pan which he is really looking forward to. However it will only be a few months after that when he starts to learn to drive for real, oh my!!!!!!
Where did the time go? This was on his sixth birthday. Oh I wish………….
Hope you are having a thrilling Tuesday.
Sniffley Hugs, Susie x
Well it is June 1st and I swear it is colder today than winter was!!!!! What I will tell you is that everything is very, very green! I know that probably sounds silly but all the plants and trees seem to be such a vibrant green this year!
Over the holiday weekend I took some pictures of the garden as it was a bit warmer.
The last of the Bluebells
A Vinca Major Flower
Last week Youngest was on holiday from school for a week and we were out for a couple of days which I will show you this week. I also managed to get the Spring Cleaning finished!!!! With lots of help from DH!!!! It is funny how different people see Spring Cleaning. To me it is cleaning the tops of cabinets and the insides and washing everything in them and cleaning under furniture and washing the lights and making sure there are no cobwebs anywhere. If you read some on the websites about spring cleaning they have a completely different idea. Anyhoo it is done for another year!!!!
I also, at the weekend swapped winter things for summer things, clothes etc. Today I wished I hadn’t!!!! The weatherman has promised us that the weather is going to be better by the end of the week and warmer but I don’t know………
Still working on the book list for the reading challenge. I was reading a book I was going to use for one of the categories and I got to Page 160 and decided I couldn’t read anymore, it was so boring!!!!!!! Needless to say I am still working on the books! Hopefully by the end of the week.
Hope you Monday is going well.
