Friday May 8th 2015 the Country celebrated 70 years of Victory in Europe Day.
The Queen lit the first of 200 Beacons across the Country from Windsor Castle
Today was a Service of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey where the Queen laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior
My Dad was in the Air Force during the war but was stationed out in Burma so was still busy with his duties on May 8th 1945, but I am sure they did some celebrating.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
Thank You

What a beautiful service. The poppies are just lovely.
Now that I am tearing up!! That last picture would make an awesome quilt…you willing to give it a go?
