It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

DSC04184We had another busy weekend but we managed to get lots done too!  I managed on Friday to get every house and work job completed so that on Saturday we could go get our tree and decorate it.

DSC04185I am really pleased with how it looks.

Saturday evening DH and Youngest were helping out at a Lifesaving event for our Club so I managed to get the rest of the Christmas presents wrapped and some more things organised, before they arrived home for dinner.

Sunday saw them leave the house at 6.30am to go to an area swimming competition.  Youngest did really well and bettered two of his times but it was a long day as they didn’t get home until 6.00pm!

DSC04180This was what I was doing all day Sunday, making mine pies! 72 of them to be accurate and most are now in the freezer and some in the cake tin!

DSC04177Treacle got tired helping!

DSC04182 DSC04183Today has been cookie day!

DSC04181A friend, Christine, who makes wonderful cakes made this for us!  Inside is a chocolate orange and then covered in malteasers!!! The Boys can’t wait!

Here are a few of my other Christmas decorations.

DSC04187 DSC04186These were bought when the boys were little, Rudolf x 2!

DSC04189Because of the tree various pieces of furniture have to move round.  This is the coffee table that Eldest made for his A’Level Product Design exam.  It is great at Christmas time as I can put lots of things on it.

DSC04190The lights on our stairs, I love these.

DSC04191Our piano.

DSC04188Our Nativity Scene.

I was listening to the radio today and it was saying that a lot of young children don’t realise that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus, which I think is very sad and I must say that you don’t see many Nativity Scene’s in the stores these days.

I still have sausage rolls to make (Treacle will be very keen on those) and then most of my baking will be finished for a while (until we run out of course!!!!).  Treacle is booked in for a spa day on Wednesday and I still have some other things to sort out.  I have mailed out the first of our Christmas cards today and need to get the rest sent off.

I hope your Monday and holiday plans are going well.

Hugs, Susie x

Your Christmas tree and decorations and mince tarts and cookies look fabulous! You are getting us even more excited for Christmas day, Miss Susie! Mom loves that your lights are at the stair treads instead of up at the handrail. Everything looks just beautiful!

It all looks so wonderful Susie! What are mine pies? 72 of them is a lot for sure! Kudos to your eldest son on that great coffee table! And to your youngest son on bettering his swim times! Our Piper has her bath/ hair cut/ nail trim day on Thursday… gotta look sweet for the family members coming home. I hope that people everywhere will remember the true meaning of Christmas.

You have been a busy household!! All your cookies look so yummy and your house looks lovely all dressed up for Christmas! Eldest’s table is wonderful – you must be so proud to have such a multi-talented son! I want to come over for a cuppa and cookies!
