The Weekend

I had one of those weekends where we were really busy so not a lot of quilting got done, or much of anything else!

Friday night saw Youngest Son camping out with his friend in our den in the garden for a Scout badge. They have to camp out one night a month for a year. As the weather was so bad they were allowed to sleep in the wooden den, which saved us putting any tents up and good job they did as it rained all night. They appeared at 7.30am a little damp looking and hungry for breakfast.

Eldest Son was swimming with the County Swimming Squad on Saturday morning at 6.00am, so my darling husband got up and took him while I looked after the younger ones.

Saturday evening saw us drive about an hour away from home to a Golf Club to celebrate a friends 70th Birthday with a sit down meal and entertainment. The evening was a great success and we had a lovely time but did not get home until 2.00am.
Sunday was a wash out weather wise and jobs wise as we were so tired after Saturday. I did get a little work done on my WIP but not much. I did sort my fabrics out and wanted to show you what my Husband and Boys bought me for Christmas. Can’t wait to make something with them.

The kids are heading in all directions at once – how do you manage to keep up? Very nice Christmas goodies you have there. What will you make?

Hi Kim yes sometimes I meet myself coming back! But the Boys are only young once and it won't be long before they don't need us, so while they do we're here! I think I am going to make some rug mugs with the Christmas fabric, the little bundle. They will be great for presents next Christmas. A quilt with the jelly roll. I have a couple of the Pam and Nicky Lintot books and will probable do a pattern out of that. But I still have two or three projects to do before then.

I hope your decorating goes well. We have to do our Boys rooms this year. Our youngest, Andrew, will be going to senior school in September so we are going to update this room and make it a little more grown up for him and then decorate the Eldest ones, Alexander. We are going to wait until the weather gets better and all the windows can be opened.

I love your property and the views you have, it must be great living where you do. See you back in blog land soon. Susie

Love the fabrics in your photo and wonder what you are planning to make from them. I love your description in the earlier post about visiting other blogs. I love seeing all of the quilts and quilt blocks and even knitting/crochet projects. But, I also love it when someone from another part of the country goes out their back door and snaps a photo of their surroundings – a place I will most likely never be able to visit. It is the next best thing to being there.

Hi LuAnn I know what you mean about where people live. I love viewing the blogs from the US. Next time I am out and about I will have to take some pictures for people to see. Haven't gotten around to making anything yet with my new fabrics as I am still trying to finish the latest WIP as it needs to be done by March 21st! Can't wait to get things done though. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day! Susie x
